Announcement after the first part of the 1st sitting of the Students’ Parliament of the UW for the 2024/2025 term

On Tuesday, 26 November 2024, the Students’ Parliament of the University of Warsaw for the 2024/2025 term began its activities.
The first part of the first sitting of the Parliament was opened by Stanisław Zabandżała (KMISH), chairman of the Revision Committee of the Students’ Union of the University of Warsaw.
The meeting was attended by Prof. Maciej Raś, UW Vice-Rector for Students and Quality of Education. Vice-Rector Raś gave a speech in which he emphasised the momentous significance of Parliament in representing the student voice and the importance of cooperation between the Students’ Union and the University authorities.
Parliament elected the Scrutiny Committee of the Students’ Parliament of the University of Warsaw.
It was agreed that the Committee would have five members in the new term, and then proceeded to elect them. Immediately after the election of the composition, the first sitting of the body was convened to elect its leadership. The Committee consists of:
- Natasza Husiatyńska (WPol) – Chairwoman;
- Jakub Tusiński (WO) – Vice Chairman;
- Olgierd Antosiewicz (WNE);
- Mikołaj Kaczmarczyk (WCh);
- Kornel Pańko (WDIB).
Parliament elected the Presidium of the Students’ Parliament of the University of Warsaw.
Danuta Grabovska (MIMUW) was elected Speaker. Piotr Krzosek (WGiSR) and Matylda Pełka (WH) were elected Deputy Speakers.
Parliament elected the President of the Students’ Union of the University of Warsaw.
As a result of the elections, Mateusz Mossakowski (WPiA) was elected President of the Students’ Union of the University of Warsaw for a second term.
Parliament approved the composition of the Board of the Students’ Union of the University of Warsaw.
In accordance with the Regulations of the Students’ Union, approval was requested by Mateusz Mossakowski (WPiA), President of the Student’s Union of the University of Warsaw. The Board for the new term will be composed as follows:
- Mateusz Mossakowski (WPiA) – President;
- Heybat Naghiyev (WNE) – Vice President;
- Maja Baranowska (WZ);
- Patryk Bonder (WG);
- Piotr Borczyński (WPiA);
- Aleksandra Semba (WPsych).
Parliament heard the basic theses of the annual report of the Revision Committee of the Students’ Union of the University of Warsaw.
The basic theses of the annual report was presented by the chairman of the Revision Committee Stanisław Zabandżała (KMISH) in order to inform new members of the Parliament about the activities of the organs of the Students’ Union.
