Announcement after the 8th sitting of the Students’ Parliament of the UW for the 2022/2023 term

We would like to inform you that during the 8th sitting of the Students’ Parliament of the UW for the 2022/2023 term:
Parliament held by-elections. The following were elected:
- Michał Radek (WNKS) as a member of Revision Commission of the Students’ Union of the UW;
- Oliwia Górecka (WDIB) as a member of the Electoral Commission of the Students’ Union of the UW;
- Jan Chmielewski-Gill (WArch) as a member of the Scrutiny Commission of the Students’ Parliament of the UW.
Parliament adopted a resolution on the operation of the Office for Support of the Disabled at the University of Warsaw.
Parliament expressed a number of demands concerning the activities of the BON. It focused on the need to make the work of the Office more efficient, proposing a review of the rules governing the handling of cases, reflecting on their advisability and making changes to the circulation of documentation. The Parliament requested improvements to the BON’s external communication, especially in foreign languages and among non-Polish-speaking students. In addition, it suggested raising the profile of the BON’s recommendations and submitted for consideration changing the name of the Office to more accurately reflect the nature of the support it provides.
Parliament adopted a resolution on the Medical Simulation Center of the University of Warsaw.
The topic of the Medical Simulation Center was undertaken in connection with the Faculty of Medicine launched at the University of Warsaw. The Parliament requested that the courses and classes conducted by the CSM and its infrastructure be made available to the widest possible group of students, and that the Centre itself develop basic skills, such as giving first aid and operating AED defibrillators. In Parliament’s view, the CSM should also promote healthy lifestyles, blood donation and bone marrow donation. The Centre’s offer should be adapted to English-speaking people.
Parliament discussed the Code of Ethics for Students of the UW.
Participants at the meeting heard information from the Marshal on the legal concerns related to the Code of Ethics for Students of the UW and engaged in a discussion on the matter. The discussion agreed on the need to regulate the validity of the Code.
